Subject:26th Annual Battle of the Jug Bands
Security:Public

This Sunday, February 10 2008, at the Kabooze in Minneapolis.

It's gonna be a hoot! eight hours of jug bands, in a bar! It's too late to sign up, but it's not too late to bring a hotdish to pass -- it's a potluck.

There's a square dance at the Bedlam Theater just a few doors down at eight. Not only that, but now I hear that there's a "jug band jam" at the Eagle's Club (25th and 25th So) on Saturday, starting at two-ish.

It's starting to feel like a festival. So, come on down, support your favorite jug band, and short of that, mine. :-)

You could do a lot worse things than buying this album. In fact, it looks fantastic. Most, if not all, of these tracks are prime string band music. The dallas String Band especially, though I recommend getting Document's Texas Black Country Dance Music collection for the Dallas String Band's complete(?) output.
