Creative Writing Assignments

This community was created to inspire. I created it, because I was thinking to myself that I would enjoy taking a creative writing class this summer, (2003) but did not want to pay for the experience. So here, you can find, if you should choose to do so, weekly creative writing assignments to inspire your creativity. A few notes are to follow regarding how I intend to facilitate this community, and of course, a list of the community guidelines.
General Information:
* Weekly assignments will be officially posted to the community on Sunday, (and will be dated as such) but may appear sooner.
*To make assignments easy to find, they will be saved as "memories."
*Grades will not be given for your writing. You will neither pass, nor fail. One might say you have succeeded in something, simply by participating. If you know what that something is, please share it with the community owner, and indeed, all members of the community.
Community DO's:
*DO post your own writings.
*DO be prepared to receive constructive criticism from other participating members of the community.
*DO feel free to post constructive criticism for other members provided you have posted your own material, and have not prevented others from commenting on your posts.
*DO have fun with this.
*DO write about ANYTHING you want to write about - there are no restrictions, provided what you write fulfills the assignment. Writings do not have to be in good taste, though it never hurts.
*DO place your writings behind an LJ-cut.
*DO make it explicitly clear if your writings, concealed behind the aforementioned LJ-cut, are not work-safe.
*DO include the assignment date in the subject line of your post, in brackets if you prefer.
Community DON'Ts:
*DON'T post off-topic writings. I'm sure they're very good, but stick to the assignments, here. If you like, you can include a link to your other writings at the beginning or end of your completed assignment, where others can see more of your writings.
*DON'T post comments that are not constructive. Posting rude, unkind or otherwise unpleasant comments will result in your being banned from the community. Instantly. Permanently. No warnings. No questions. On the first offense.
*DON'T post comments if you are unwilling to receive feedback from others. You are welcome to remove the comments feature from your posts, but silencing others will be regarded as silencing yourself. In other words, don't dish it out if you can't take it. Or something like that.
If anyone has any suggestions for a writing assignment, please email me. My email should be listed above. Always be sure to email me if someone has left comments that are unkind or inappropriate. And let me know if there are any other suggestions you have. This is the first community I have ever created, so I'm learning as I go along.
