A history
Once when the land was new, there were no seasons. All different creatures lived on the earth. All different colors and shapes and sizes, many more than who live today. The People where happy for a while, then they began to get bored. The temperature was always the same, and light too.
"There is no change!" They cried, frustrated with everything always staying the same.
So Earth and Sky talked, and divided the light. Sometimes it was very bright, and sometimes very dark. But there was no regulation. Sometimes it was light for many weeks, then dark for only a few hours. The People weren't happy.

Finally Earth and Sky divided the light into Day and Night, giving each equal reign. The People were happy for a time. Then they began to get frustrated with the temperature.

"There is no change!" The cried, frustrated with everything always staying the same.

So Earth and Sky made the seasons. But the People still weren't happy. Summer would change to Spring then Winter without order. Sometimes Winter was two weeks, sometimes two years. Many creatures died during the chaotic seasons, which is why there are less creatures today.

Finally Earth and Sky talked again, and divided their powers between the seasons, creating the gods. A pair for each season, one female, one male, to keep balance between Day and Night.

Aqinta and Angri were given Spring. Aqinta’s light and airy nature neatly balanced by Angri’s quest for hidden knowledge.

Arista and Attyne were given Summer. Arista added humor and mischief to Attyne’s great sense of duty and honor.

Alana and Adalli were given Autumn. Both enjoy lurking on the edge of sight, and were prone to fits of passion. But Alana was full of love and lust, while Adalli leaned towards darker hungers.

Aril and Alryne became rulers of Winter. Alyrne’s power hungry nature dulled by Aril’s laid back ability to resist being pushed around without offending.

The Gods then came to the People, and showed them their new powers. The People bowed in awe, then promised to forever honor them. For awhile all were honored equally by the People. The People began to gravitate to the pair of gods they related closest to and were pampered by their chosen gods. This created resentment among the People, and they finally ended up fractionating.

Thus the Tribes were formed.

War broken out sporadically between the four tribes. Uneasy peace reigned in each tribe, and power struggles began to break out between the ruling pairs as they tribes fractionated further.

Eventually the Tribes split until each worshipped only a single god. The gods warred between each other, their people waging small and large scale battles. The land became soaked in blood as each carved our their own territory.

This is before the seasons split, during the uneasy peace within the four tribes. Internal power struggles and political strife filled the air. The four tribes were on the edge of war between each other as they were slowly consumed by the passions of their patron gods. Humans gained power and were gifted with leadership positions, becoming needed and loved.

This is a land torn by war, and about to fall further into the pit of strife and dissention before any hope of healing is to occur.

This is, the End of Eternity.
