| Please help us out with taking a looksee... |

Hello all
I need a favor.
Some of you know of our website www.spill.com. It's rather recent, but we're working hard on it to get it ready for a big launch.
Some of you know us from our old access show in Austin "The Reel Deal". Spill is Korey, Chris, Cargill, Martin and Tony from the old guard.
Now, we need your help. Korey is meeting with the execs today and needs some feedback about the site. We want to make it better.
That's where you come in.
I need you to take a look all throughout the site and give me some honest opinions.
What do you like? What don't you like?
What would you do differently and how?
What would you add to the site?
Hook a brother up.
Thank you!

| The Reel Deal not so live but in person |
[31 Jan 2006|11:20pm] |
Hey kids, The Reel Deal will be on it's first full 1/2 hour show this Wednesday at 10:00 on channel 16 on Austin Cable Access. No more live stuff anytime soon I'm afraid. However you can see us live where we'll be watching the show with you at Opal Divine's Freehouse at 700 W.6th st. We'll be arriving just before 10:00 pm so you can beat us up if the show isn't funny. So please come join us. If you missed last week's show, it's posted up at www.thereeldealwebsite.com where you will be able to watch future shows as well. Thanks all! -Chris Cox The Reel Deal

| The first fully animated Reel Deal on Wednesday |
[25 Jan 2006|12:18am] |
|
Suprisingly, there will be a Reel Deal animated show airing on Wednesday from 10-10:30. The first 15 are a truncated version of the new show and for the next 15 we will be answering calls so you can give us feedback. It's an evolving monkey so be gentle. Also, if there's anyone out there with mad flash skills who'd like to come be part of the Reel Deal behind the scenes team, get in touch with me. We could use some volunteers (the more regular help we have, the more elaborate and funny the show can be). With just two people doing all the work every week, we're limited on what we can currently do.

Mind you, it doesn't have the same impact as Howard Stern leaving terrestrial radio, but... After ten years of broadcasting on the Austin airwaves this Wednesday night, January 11th, on channel 16 at 10pm will be the last live episode of The Reel Deal. Last one. Fini. Basta es basta. As much as we'd love to keep it going, there just isn't enough time to continue doing the show and work on taking it to its next phase. This show has been a major part of my life for the last nine years and I'm really gonna miss it. Not just the chance to entertain our audience every week, rubbing elbows with celebrities or invites to big premiers and parties...but mostly I'll miss the open-invitation after show get togethers where we get to meet our viewers. I've met so many interesting people and made so many wonderful friends that are like family to me (You know who you are). Our final episode will be of course full of all the humor, insults, movie reviews and technical glitches you've come to love us for, as well as a number of guest appearances and...surprises.
* If you're a long time or short time fan you want to be sure to watch (or record) this episode! * If you've been contemplating sitting in our live studio audience, THIS is the time to finally do it!! (get there early. Two weeks ago with no Rose Bowl it was standing room only). * If you have to call in sick or take a vacation day on Thursday...do it and join us at Opal Divine's (6th & Rio Grande) after the show for the final after party of all after parties!!!
I'd also like to send out a special invitation to all the ex-cast members (Nichole, Tony, Michelle,Laura, etc.), the ancillary cast members (the movie news guys, Star Wars Dave, Porno Chris, etc.) and previous special guest stars (The Austin Movie Show crew, the Fine Femmes of Flicker, etc) to pop on one last time to say "goodbye". Again, you know who you are. As for the future of The REEL DEAL... For the next few months the show in its fledgling new form will be appearing exclusively on the internet and podcasts. If all goes according to plan it will be back on television in a few months (but not live). That's why it's SO VERY IMPORTANT that you get on our mailing list so we can keep you updated with what's going on. I know you've probably been procrastinating because you figure, "Oh, I don't need to be reminded to watch the show every Wednesday". Well, now you do and it's as easy as clicking this link: thereeldeal@hotmail.com and typing, "Please put me on the mailing list." Hell, you can even copy and paste that. In the meantime you can still check out the latest Reel Deal newsletter here: http://freakshow.cornbread.com/albums/rd/rdemail/email122805.htm (you should be receiving the new one shortly) And of course there's always our website: http://www.thereeldealwebsite.com (which'll be updated with everything by tomorrow night) I can't wait to see you this Wednesday night!! (If you get on the mailing list you'll get a map to the studio in the newsletter) -Martin Thomas As seen ONE LAST TIME on The Reel Deal; Wednesday nights at 10 on channel 16
