About
mentalist /'men-tə-list/ noun. Someone who uses mental acuity, hypnosis and/or suggestion. A master manipulator of thoughts and behavior.

Jane came to work with the California Bureau of Investigation as a consultant after his wife and daughter were murdered by serial killer Red John. Jane is charming and irreverent. He sees much, but guards himself very intensely. After spending most of his professional career as a tv medium, Jane now derides the supernatural and psychics (this doesn't stop some from accusing him of being one, though). His quest for revenge against Red John drives him, but Jane is also quite benevolent, giving away most of the money he makes from schemes to the needy.
