[mood |busy]

I just realized I've posted it all over, but not in my actual journal itself. We're having twins :-)

Original EDD was mid March, but it looks like they most likely will be born by the end of February.

My heart is breaking for the kitty that Haven will never know. I'll post about it later about it when I get my stuff together.

Time before IVF... [Jun. 3rd, 2009|03:25 am]

I've been watching this fasinating series on PBS called Test Tube Babies. And it's equally uplifting and depressing. They've talked about how IVF was originally feared, how some lab techs would purposely destroy fertilized embryos. It's heartbreaking to think that a couple would go through the whole process of ovary stimulation and harvesting eggs, only to have their hopes dashed.
It makes me so grateful that Russ and I were able to have supportive medical professionals and legal rights that helped us deal with our infertility. We're so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby girl in our lives directly as a result of an amazing doctor and the technology to make our pregnancy possible.

Work's going great, (just coming up on the 3rd month!) loving the craziness of it all. Russell's job is going great too, he finally was able to quit Blockbuster :-)

New place is equally great, lots more space and so much privacy and just peace and quiet.

New kitty will be joining our family in a few months, my friend's cat is having a litter very soon.

School is looking like it's really going to happen now. There's tuition reimbursement at work that's really going to be a great help.

Was able to get Envoy all tuned up last week, only to run into a fence a day later, thankfully it was just minor cosmetic damage.

that's about it.

later taters.

So, I'm up early and actually have a little time to spare so I thought i'd update.

Things are definetely looking up. Life has some security again, and I'm just feeling better about everything in general. Work's been great, and I've been a lot less stressed even thought I'm busy around the clock.(Yay for overtime!) Russell's liking his new job and has still been hanging on to his Blockbuster gig at night. We have more space to live in than we have had since last July. And my Mom's actually been staying out of our hair a little more. The move was a bit stressful since we ended up at the last minute not having a Uhaul truck and just made multiple trips with the Envoy. We don't have a lease to deal with right now, so Russ and I are looking at our options for when we move out of here. One of the things we've started to pursue is actually buying a house, we're currently talking to a company that specializes in the sale of pre-foreclosure homes (they're usually a very good deal). Anywhoo, that's about it for now.

toodles.

[mood |relaxedrelaxed]

So, I'm in Leesburg with Russ at the Bowman house. Yesterday was Papa's 86th Birthday Party. It was a psuedo surprise... he knew we'd be having a party, but he didn't know that the Texas and New York relatives were coming to it. :-)
It was great to see everyone, especially Matt, Melissa and Locke... I think we hadn't seen them since October.
Russ and I have today off too, but I was called yesterday night by Christy asking if I'd be willing to work tonight. So I'm still thinking that over... my feet are enjoying their time off but I really would like to make some extra cash. We've had a bunch of extra little expenses come up this week: air filter and headlight for the Envoy, deposits on our new lease (we renewed for another 6 months), new clothes for work, a parking ticket, etc.
Brandon and Nick are moving out of the apartment at the end of this month, so Russ and I are going to have the place all to ourselves. Our newfound space and privacy will be great, but being responsible for all the expenses won't be quite as great. The multiple jobs I now have will help though. And Russell's been pursuing other employment too. He was supposed to have an interview with a Telecommunications company last Friday, but they ended up being temporarily closed from Tornado damage, so hopefully his interview will end up being rescheduled for sometime this week.

Anywhoo... that's about all the news here folks. Later Taters.
