monthlyinspo's theme for March was A Night At The Movies. This was such a fun theme! I decided to imitate some of my favorite (or otherwise iconic) movie posters. Turns out ten is a lot! :D But I did it and I am pretty proud of the results. Almost all of these are Guardian, again.Teasers:

He does, doesn't he? (It's absolutely totally a lollipop, what else could it be? ;P )
And Zhu Yilong in his Phantacity makeup gives SPOT ON Clockwork Orange vibes, oh my gosh.
When I was looking through movie posters, that one jumped out at me immediately and I knew it had to be the Phantacity clown. So obvious. That is my fave, too. It came out exactly the way I wanted it to. I wasn't sure about that at first, because the picture quality of Phantacity is not great (it's way too dark which makes it blurry), but I knew I needed a shot of him with his hand stretched out, so I couldn't take any of the publicity stills or BTS pics. I am so glad it worked even with the LQ cap.
The Jurassic park one still makes me giggle. :D

There are so many posters where the protagonists stand back to back, but none of them are very recognizable and it just didn't want to fit. Oh, well. (I would totally go for Zhao Yunlan leading Shen Wei around by his tie, though. :D)
The clown and Clockwork Orange were my first thought. Very obvious indeed. :D

on 2019-03-27 09:47 pm (UTC)I really wanted to make the Hanzi version of Dragon City work, but the slanted lines just don't look like architecture very much. (I probably should have handpainted it into a more angular shape.) But I still like it very much.
The Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas icon was *so much fun* to make. It was all smudge tool all the time. :DD

on 2019-04-01 05:32 pm (UTC)I especially love the Jurassic Park and Clockwork Orange ones, they just work so well. 9 and its alt look fantastic too, the lighting is so smooth. The pastelly coloring in 1 is super pretty, and I also appreciate the clever details like finding a sitting on a bench cap for 7. Its alt is amazing, I loooove the composition. Awesome work here!

Thank you so much! I adore the Clockwork Orange one, too. Now that I look at them again, I think I still have a few too many sharpening artifacts, especially in the Jurassic Park text. Oh, well, too late now. :)
