Porter's latest Thought is not only brilliantly hilarious but painfully accurate in its psychological insight. (Thank you Porter!) I can personally attest to this, as I am employed by that all-too-abused but preseveringly munificent industry that feeds today's fast paced nation. We are the caloric teats on which future heroes suck, but what do we receive? No, not gentle suckling, but vicious bites, double negatives and incorrect change! Bastard ingrates!
*pantpant*
Well. Just take the following transcripts as complimentary material to Porter's Thought. Yes, this is the sort of stuff I'll brave tonight. Drive-through: the all-American nightmare.
Hi may I take your order?
Give me a sec.
[90 seconds later]
Are you ready to order?
Can't you give me a minute?
...
Hi may I take your order?
[dials phone] Hold on. [commences phone convo. While taking the other person's order may have been the initial intent, he/she becomes sidetracked into "what he did to her last night, where omigod when? in front of who? shaddup junior, you'll get your frosty! okay and then she said what?" and we, yes all seven of us with headsets, here in our steamy bite-sized kitchen bang shiny surfaces with sharp utensils in time to the details until he/she realizes oh I'm on drive-thru, whaddya wanna eat? and then the fast in fast food is ruined since he/she did not cooperate]
...
Hi may I take your order?
I wanna double with cheese.
Would you like the combo?
Yeah, with a coke.
Would you like to upsize your combo for 49cents more?
Yeah, I want the combo.
...
What would you like to drink?
Barbeque sauce.
Okay, barbeque sauce for your chicken nuggets. What would you like to drink for your combo?
And some ranch too. About five things of ranch.
Okay. And the drink?
A small drink. To go.
...
Would you like to upsize?
Yah.
Yes?
Nyah.
No?
I said YESSS the first time.
...
To be continued, for therapeutic purposes for the disturbed author. YOINKS!

| New TJM board, that is actually good. |
[28 Sep 2004|04:20pm] |
OK, so nevermind moving everything to here. I found some new board software that was cheap and makes for a pretty nice board. Has all the features that you would expect.
Check it out and let me know what you think:
http://www.tjmonkeys.com/boards
Yes, you'll have to make a new account, I'm sorry. But you won't have to enter your password in every damn time now.
OK, well, check it out.

| Hurray! |
[22 Sep 2004|02:18pm] |
I figured out how to post here! I am an amazing person and should be lauded with praise?
On a serious note, what say we scrap the damn messageboards on the site and make this the official TJM community? I know people would have to join LiveJournal, but... I don't really care. The board program we have on TJM is lame and requires much work on my part to keep it running in its lame-ass way.
Anyway, I think making this the discussion place might be really cool, as then people could easily go back on forth into other TJM friends' journals!
Anyway, I know no one checks here, but post comments about how you feel about this if you ever look over here.

Er, besides the return of the dashing Scott and winsome Seth to the scene, the pointed absence of our beloved regulars--where art thou Porter, Flynn, John? obviously at work at some godforsaken national security meeting--and a record low at our ever popular fan board, nuthin much's happened.
I did however discover this hot, professional-ish new pic of our favorite 4n6Dreamboat ;o)

I jacked it off Friendster, but all in the good cause of tjmonkeys publicity and fan libido.

[18 May 2004|11:18am] |
Just posted On The Worst Name Ever on the fan board. Read it. It's raunchy, wordy and lame. I've had it festering in the back of my mind since last year, and I think it's the first monologue one I've written.
Meanwhile, after disgusting yourself with my degraded humor, please post like madmen and madwomen on the boards or send irritating fawning emails to the tjmers, and in short, raise Cain and make sure everyone knows we, the fans, are alive and want the board and tjmonkeys.com to be alive as well. But please, do it politely, and keep your pants on. For most of the time.

Since the less vigilant of us have been occupied elsewhere, a John-fanatic has basically ruined the Top 50/150s list. Not that John is bad. I love John--being an English major, I even enjoyed his Shakespeare parody and punning on Dylan Thomas. However, the Top 50 is supposed to be a sample of TJ Monkeys in its entirety, not the top 150 of John's archive.
And setting it straight will take some time. I, for one, don't have much of it.
Therefore, I propose we each suggest the best one or two thoughts for EACH writer (that is, the original 9--less frequent guest columnists can be included) here on this coummnity. Let's be nostalgic and remember those classics buried under John-favoritism: remember On Law Practice? On Pierced Elbows? On Storm Warnings?
And meanwhile, let's list the very WORST thoughts.

| update |
[21 Nov 2003|09:35am] |
So.
John has finally graced us with his presence on the message boards. Dumbed down indeed, harrumph.
And as I have suspicioned, Jane Borden, "Guest Columnist" and fellow improv performer is in fact Porter's girlfriend.
Get free TJM stickers HERE!
The updated site format is now sophisticated and prettifully colored.
Flynn, unbeknownst to him, unconsciously zapped my apophasis musing the other day and turned it into a thought.
That is all.

Porter has eliminated the Unofficial Fan Site link!
Implications, be what they may.
Of course, he has revised and added a whole slew of stuff as well. i.e. merchandise that is, frankly to tell you, somewhat lame.
Anyway, a thought struck me yesterday, that goes along the same vein as the floss thought (I think by Flynn.)
On a Stop on My Dysfunctional Thought Process
For one day I would like to be zapped into a pile of poop. Then, when people ask me how I'm feeling, I could say
"I feel like shit!"
And nobody could ever censor me. It would be mere fact, and my word, for once, would be the absolute and undebatable.
--M.
(I *cough* am *cough* *sniff* feeling crappy. I think I'll reread Seth's classic sick list symptoms and compare.)

| Trying to make myself heard over this all this racuous commenting |
[16 Jul 2003|01:22pm] |
|
In case you haven't noticed,
The TJM site is back up and running!!!! Wheeee!
However, the MP3 of the parody rap is gone. So is performance info. I wonder if Bret/Flynn are substituting for the absent Porter in their updating efforts.
My TJM tastes have matured--I am currently going through the Flynn archive, which I've scandalously overlooked in my ravings over Porter, John, and Bret.
I am also obscenely behind in fleshing out all these fan thoughts I've archived--people, please try posting your thoughts on the fanboard or at least in this community. PLEASE!!!
OK now it's your turn to comment.

Hey y'all,
This is Garlicklustre from the official TJM fanboard. I started this community in hopes of a more casual hangout for the tjm fans on lj--somewhere freer where we can bounce around off-topics and thought ideas. Plus it's tjm publicity. So yeah, please use this. If you want to be a mod, send me a comment and I'll figure soemthing out. Or you can help me out--I need compu lessons. Thanx.
