A daily community's central function revolves around the sharing of pictures pertaining to its subject, usually at random and (ideally) on a daily basis.
While that definitely still applies to this community, it was created with more direction. Basically, I plan to categorize and archive every post in this community so that it's essentially a database of searchable Tegan and Sara images. Hopefully, whatever you're looking for can be easily found here once things really get going. I'm sure we all know about the .com, .org, and .net image libraries but what can I say, I'm obsessed with the convenience of the memory feature.
Now I'm sure everyone wants to know why this community won't be completely useless. The reason I decided to start this community is entirely because there are so many sources to find pictures. Between fansites, their message boards, and general fandom lj communities, if you don't have either a highly organized list of internet favorites or computer folder(s) finding what you're looking for can be absolute mayhem. This should eliminate all of that so that you not only know where to find something, but who to credit in the event that you're using images to create icons and other graphics. The bottom line: a one-stop Tegan and Sara image shop. This is not to replace other Tegan and Sara galleries by any means, but to help mainly with those "Does anyone have ___" and "Where did you find ___" questions. Live photos, scans, video captures, and rare photos are all good places to start.
How it all Works
When posting in this community, it is imperative that you state the source of your images (i.e. If they're from a magazine, what magazine. If you got them from an existing t&s site or message board, credit that site. If they belong to another photographer, credit them and list their site whenever possible).
If posting images that belong to someone else specifically (lives, scans, video captures, etc), I'm sure they would appreciate being asked before said images get posted here. Beyond that, credit the person that the images belong to along with their lj username, assuming they have one. If you know for a fact that said person doesn't mind their images being used for graphics, state that as well.
If posting your own images, state that they're yours and whether or not anyone can use them for imaging purposes (credit applicable, of course).
Date any images you post here in some way. By era, year, etc. Give exact dates whenever possible.
If you see images that belong to you posted here that you would like removed, or that are for whatever reason credited incorrectly e-mail precise.rhythms@gmail.com and I'll take care of it a.s.a.p.
Daily Principles
Every post must contain at least one picture or it will be deleted. You're welcome to post whatever Tegan and Sara related material you choose here, but include a picture of some sort.
Every picture must be behind an lj-cut; however, as an alternative you may post up to three uncut thumbnails/icons/buttons next to each other before cutting the rest if you prefer. See this post for an example. It might also be easier on the eyes if you applied thumbnails to all images, cut and uncut, but not required. This is to avoid royally messing up most members' friends pages.
Cut-tagsThumbnails
If making a request for a certain image(s) in this community, be sure to check the memories first. If you still can't find it, make sure you include a picture when posting. It doesn't have to be related to what you're looking for, but every post means every post.
If fulfilling a request do not post the picture in comments. Make a new post so that I can archive it. If you end up having to link to a post already archived in the community, then you can comment with a link to that post.
Do not hotlink images from other sites or from this community. Upload images to your own photobucket account or your preferred image host.
You can post icons and other graphics here, but you must include the original images with the required credit and date.
