Filter!

This week your icon must use at least one visible effect feature from the Effects/Filter menu in your Photoshop or Paintshop. You can blur it, texturize it, distort it- do whatever you want as long as the result is visible. :3

Color Wheel

Ressurected from dynast_lims, your icon this week must be 100% tones of the same color. It can only have ONE COLOR. Black and white will not count as colors, but shades of gray will - so your icon can only have BLACK black (#000000), WHITE white (#FFFFFF) and shades of another color.

If you include text, it also needs to follow those guidelines.

The trick with this challenge? You don't get to actually pick your color. Comment here with a number, 1-6, and I will comment back with your color.

Monochromatic

This week your challenge needs only to be monochromatic- only shades of black, white and gray are allowed.

This week your challenge is to use images from in game sequences of the game- you can not use any artwork by Tetsuya Nomura or Shiro Amano or from the beginning and ending FMVs. You need to stick to the in game sequences/real time scenes from the game. You can use cut scenes, or stills from battle sequences and the like.

Zodiac

For this challenge your icon needs to reference one of the Twelve Zodiac. Your sign doesn't necessarily have to say that its 'ares' or 'pisces' but it should be obvious what you're referencing.

Faceless!

The challenge for this preliminary is that your character's face must be obscured- either by cropping or by text or by clothing, you can not visibly show any part of the face.

Mythical

The final challenge is for you to transform a character into a mythical creature. Your icon must visually show the character as being a mythical creature - Riku into a vampire, Kairi into a mermaid or you can reference it via text. Characters like the Beast and Ariel are not allowed seeing as those are both mythical creatures. Here is a list if needed. :)

Memories

Your challenge is to have either the image or text reference the above mentioned word, either by playing it in your text ('chain of memories', 'lost in memories', 'thinking of you') or inside the image itself.

Summer Love

The challenge this time around is to make a pairing icon- of any paing! You just have to have it come across as a relationship, not just two characters together in the same space! It can be the conventional (the classic Sora/Kairi or Riku/Kairi or Roxas/Namine) or something cracktastic (like Axel/Tifa, Demyx/Ariel).

Homework!

Depending on what classes you signed up for or in case you needed to make up credit for a class an old enemy reappeared during the summer- Homework! Contestants must use textures that are homework related: general paper textures, notebook paper, camera lens frames and polaroid frames. You can make your icon look like its a newspaper clipping or an image randomly drawn in the margin of a page- you just have to be noticeable that you used paper type textures or it looks school/homework related.
