We are generally willing to entertain applications, though at any given time we may not have particular roles open.
To apply, fill in the following and email it to the mods (leakymods@gmail.com) with subject line indicating it's an application.

Character you are interested in playing:
Brief (2ish paragraph) description of the character as you see her or him (behavior and personality):
Brief physical description (this doesn't have a huge amount of bearing on casting. Just wanna see what you're considering):
Characters with whom you see this character interacting often, and nature of relationships (that is, you see a likely or possible romantic relationship with this character, a long-standing friendship with that one, a recent collegial relationship with that one, and a decade-long hate of so and so even though you interact):
---
Have you RP'ed before? List some examples of your RPing, if so.
Sample post of 300-500 words or so (this won't be part of the game, course, but just so we get a sense of how you might write this character. Remember: 3rd person, past tense):
Any other writing samples you think we oughtta see:
How active do you see your character being? (Threads once a week, every two weeks, once a month, etc.) ---
Give your character a dirty little secret. Something other game characters probably wouldn't know about.
Because the_leaky has grown to such a large and active game (yay!), several new MODs have been added to help manage it. Your MOD team is: florahart, inell, thescarletwoman, rose_whispers & thermidor. Due to the increased number of MODs and the coordination required to come to consensus, our contact policy has changed. Now, questions regarding Leaky canon, game policy, or conduct of other players should be emailed to leakymods@gmail.com.
We are also reposting the Leaky Rules for all players (new and old) to read, review, and acknowledge.
Obviously, any rule has to be enforced. The rules help make sure everyone has the same expectations with regard to game play and behaviour. Penalties range from a friendly word over IM to an official warning via email, through to probation, hiatus and removal from the game, and the significance of the breach will be taken into account when deciding a penalty. Frequent warnings (three in a month) will result in automatic probation.
We cannot guarantee that all mods are available for immediate consultation at all hours of the day. Should something cause concern, the mod(s) online may ask you to stop until we have a chance for the full team to consult.
Remember to look through character information, keep the above in mind, and have fun. If you have problems, contact us by email: leakymods@gmail.com and the mod team will address your concerns.
When rule updates are posted to the authors' comm, they also include this: Please comment to this post stating you've read these rules & agree to them. Any player who is not known to be on hiatus and who does not respond within 7 days will have their posting access frozen until they do so. if you have questions about the rules or need clarification, please email them to us at leakymods@gmail.com and we will answer them in a timely manner.
Thanks for reading these and for making the_leaky a great place to play!
Let us know if you are interested in one of these characters; the ones that say they have backstory, there's enough that it would be nice if you'd figure a way to pick up smoothly. If you have a different (canon) character in mind, even one with a minor canon role but who you have big ideas for, that's not impossible. Application form is here. Current game rules are here. Questions welcome.
