Has anyone discovered any good restaurants/cafes in Canterbury where you can eat breakfast?

This is the group page for the Old Brewery Tavern

Tomorrow is the first night of the Battle of the Bands

They're looking for acts (4 more slots left as I'm writing this)

You need to be able to play a 20 minute slot including 1 original song and 1 cover.

The bar is willing to provide a £15 drinks tab per slot

To enter, you should contact Alison Miller via the Tavern's group page.

The music will kick off at 9.30 and will go on til about 11 - 11.30

The Tavern, for those who don't know is located on Stour Street, Canterbury - the alley off the highstreet, between the old post office and the Abode Hotel, on the way to the Beer Cart Arms)

That's Tomorrow Night (Wednesday 15th October)

there may or may not be free pie.. that chance is yours to gamble with

Hey guys, I posted a while ago and some of you were interested, but we had found someone for the first term already.
If anyone knows that they're going to need somewhere new to live second and third term AND/OR during the christmas holidays then please get in touch with me. :)

The house is in Hales Place, about 10-15 minutes walk from campus, two girls (second years, social anthropology) and one spare room. The house is really lovely, big kitchen, really nice garden, all the rooms are really decent sizes and lovely. They don't have double beds, but the spare room does have room for one if you wanted.

If you're intesrested/want more information, email me at jh376@kent.ac.uk. :)
Let me know more about you when you do!
xx

HIYAAAAA!!!
Haha sorry, but yes, hello everyone, not sure how active this community is? I'm going to the University of Kent to do Business Studies, will be on the Medway campus though. I was going to go to uni in London but chickened out at the last minute and decided to go to a local one instead.

Anyone else?

I decided that London just isn't for me, I want my pubs where I know everyone and everyone knows me and I want to stay with my friends.

So if anyone else is doing the same thing then get in touch!

By the way, anyone think that the LJ site is getting more cluttered? It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to search for communities!

Looking for a housemate to move in in time for the start of the next academic year.
The house is a three bedroom in Hales Place, about 10-15 minutes walk from campus and about 15-20 minutes walk into the city centre.
Currently two second year female social anthropology students living there, the third housemate is moving out due to a bad breakup and we need to fill the third room!
Comment/email me a jh376@kent.ac.uk if you're interested in more details.

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young.  GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at:  www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.
