It's now a month since my birthday; so, as is traditional, it's time for the cards to come down. Certain strong themes emerge from the card designs chosen by my family and friends.

Out of 18 cards, this is how they break down:

• Animals
• 6 featured a cat or cats -- depicting a total of 56 individual cats between them
• 2 dog (one of which is on the phone to a cat)
• 1 rabbit (which looks like a moose)
• 1 goldfish
• Nature
• 1 sunflower
• 1 maple-type leaf (handmade card)

• 1 interesting arrangement of stones
• 1 still life of apple blossom in a cup
• Human / anthropogenic
• 1 group of old people
• 1 stack of multicoloured handmade paper
• 1 Short Sunderland (a WWII flying-boat bomber)
• Abstract
• 1 assemblage of glittery lozenge shapes

OK, I have cats myself, so that explains the cats. And I am gradually becoming an old person...
(Kudos for anyone who can guess who sent any of them!)
