Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get a bit of advice- since I've given up meat I'm finding that I'm becoming pretty tired (this has happened before, which is why my vegetarianism has been off-and-on for years).  I'm generally being careful about the amount of protein I'm getting (in terms of tofu and nuts, etc) and I take a B complex with Iron.  I'm still worried that I'm missing some kind of vital nutrient and just have no clue.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this?  Is there some vital part of the nutrient wheel I'm neglecting (I still eat eggs and dairy, although being lactose intolerant means not very much milk).

Sorry if this is the wrong venue for this- mods please feel free to remove.

Thanks so much for your help!!

My friend and I are lacto-ovo vegetarian, and we are both seriously considering the switch to veganism. However, we go to a small school (less than 2000 students), and there aren't necessarily that many choices for students on a meal plan. We will, however, be living in a house with a kitchen, and we will be able to cook a few times a week. Our concern is getting enough to eat while maintaining good nutrition. What advice can you offer us? Any things we can construct out of salad bar items? Or cheap and easy recipes to make at the house?

Hey folks,

I am in a food rut. I dread when I start feeling hungry because I don't particularly like any of the foods I regularly eat. I want to look forward to eating again! So I thought maybe you guys could help me do that.

I am looking to incorporate lots of nutrional and easy to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner foods, as well as snack ideas. I find this hard to acheive because of my busy schedule and our kitchen is definitely not equipt for lots of cooking (we only have one pot, one frying pan, and a bunch of dull knives).

What are some of your most common/favorite meal and snacks? (I'm going food shopping tomorrow and I hope to buy some new things!)

Here are some things that I eat regularly:

Breakfast
Cereal (Special K Red Berries and vanilla Silk!)
Smoothie (starberries, raspberries, 1 banana, and silk)
Instant oatmeal
Granola bars

Lunch
PB &J Sandwich
Pasta
Pizza
Rice & Beans

Dinner
Baked broccoli
Baked zuccini
Cheese crisp
Pasta (again)
Pizza (again)

Snacks
Cheese and crackers
Carrots
Chick peas
Rice Crispy Squares
Granola bars...

Pretty boring, eh?

Thanks in advance!!
