Thank you Phil Clayton!

Hey guys

Graeme's finally given me the go-ahead to let you know that a new Verlaines album is in the works. See The Heady Remembrance for details and future developments.

Thanks. :)

"In Their Own Words" section updated with the long-promised THR interview with Mike Stoodley, and info on his reasons for leaving the Verlaines.

Simon Comber, a former student of Graeme's, is set to release his debut album, Pre-Pill Love, next month. Graeme co-produced part of the album and also played on a couple of tracks. Check out SimonComber.com for album details and downloadable tracks.

A few site changes and additions, including excerpts from a pre-interview chat session with ex-Verlaines bassist Mike Stoodley, highlights (text and audio) from an old Graeme Downes interview conducted during their first US tour, a newly added FAQ section and more. Check it all out on the news page.

Upcoming: the aforementioned Mike Stoodley interview, rare photos, and quite a bit of song trivia.

I recently interviewed ex-Verlaines bassist Jane Dodd via email.

You can read it all here.

I posted this over at the Verlaines board but I thought you guys might like to take a look.

Hi all.

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself...I am not very knowledgeable about this great band - except for the wonderful song - "Slow sad love song". I am desperate to get my hands on a copy of Bird Dog and wondered if anyone knew how I could do this?

I've tried on Amazon but there was a waiting list for any copies that came up...

Looking forward to getting to know you and more about The Verlaines.

NZEPC article on the Verlaines - with a link to the Grimalco site. Yes indeedy!

I'm noticing a lot more LJ'ers listing verlaines/the verlaines in their interests. Used to be just a handful a few years ago. It's good to see this band finally getting noticed. Reaaaaaaal groovy!
