Community Info

This community is an art challenge community for Whedonverse art. Fandoms can include Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, or Firefly. This list will eventually expand to include any other Whedon works. This is not an anonymous challenge so everyone will post their own work as they finish it, and this can include any type of art: Manips, icons, wallpapers, headers/banners, layouts, and drawings/paintings.

The Way It Works

• Every two weeks, a challenge will be posted and you will have until the deadline given to submit any art that fits that challenge.


• Art includes: icons, manipulations, wallpapers, banners/headers, layouts (for journals or websites), or handcrafted art such as drawings, paintings, or anything else not computer generated.


• You submit your entries by posting them to the community before the deadline.


• There is no limit to how many works you can submit as long as they are submitted properly. If your submitting a layout either submit a link to a working version or post a preview images of it so we can see it.


• At the end of the two weeks, a post will be done linking to all submissions in each category and you will have 3-4 days to vote on your favorites.


• Winners will receive an award banner for their work.


• There will always be a first place winner, We'll add second and third depending on the number of entries, by different people.




Rules





There aren't going to be a lot of rules but some are necessary.





1. All entries must be properly tagged with the challenge tag, and which category you want your work placed in. Check the challenge post to find the correct challenge tag.


2. Any rating is accepted, as are all warnings, but both must be properly marked (above the cut) and adult/Not Work Safe images must be below a cut, even for icons.


3. Anything larger than 300x300 must be placed below a cut, and more than 5 icons should be below a cut. Some people have dial up and don't want to wait for large or numerous images to load.


4. You must include a header with all posts.


5. If an artist says their work is not shareable, you cannot take it. If it is shareable, make sure you properly credit it to them when you use it. Failure to do so is an offense that will get you banned. Stealing someone's work is inexcusable and won't be tolerated.


6. You can post art for old challenges as long as it's properly tagged. It won't, obviously, be included in the voting, but if an old challenge inspires you, feel free to share.


7. Categories we will be using are: icons, manips, wallpapers, banners/headers, layouts (for journals or websites), or hand created art. If you're submitting one image for more than one category that's fine, but if you have two images for two different categories please post them separately. Many images for the same category can be in post though.


8. To be fair to everyone, if we are awarding more than just first place you cannot win more than one award, per challenge, per category. In other words if you win first place for icons, you cannot also win second or third place for icons.

This is not an anonymous challenge, so everyone will be posting their own work for voting. I do, however, assume that we can all behave appropriately and not flame, argue, or fight with each other. I'm not going to tolerate any wank in this community. I have absolutely no patience for it and if I have to step in and moderate an argument, someone will end up banned. I'm a very busy person and am not going to spend hours dealing with childish conflicts. This means I'd highly advise you to not delete comments because if I try to check into a problem and comments are deleted, I may not get the full scope of what happened and my decision may not be the right one. In other words, if someone flames you and you delete it but respond, what I see is your (likely) nasty comment, without seeing the cause…you look like the instigator. You're much better off going to a mod or ignoring it.
