The Baltimore Sun is looking for Difference Makers — ordinary Marylanders doing extraordinary things. We want to tell the stories of people whose courage, generosity, perseverance, ingenuity or commitment goes far beyond what most of us would expect, and whose actions have made a profound difference in the lives of others.
We’re not just looking for prominent people, accomplished professionals or people who do their jobs exceptionally well. We’re looking for the foster parent who has opened a home to dozens of children; the teenager who turned a personal hardship into a mission to help hundreds of others; the neighbor who has quietly devoted decades to people in need; or someone who overcame extraordinary odds and then used that experience to lift up others. The test is simple: Does this person’s story make you stop, take notice and think differently about what one person can achieve?

Tell us who you’re nominating, what they have done, who has been affected by their efforts and what makes their story truly extraordinary. Please be as specific as possible; giving examples, numbers, names and details will help us understand the scope of their impact and how best to tell their story.
