Salesforce Renames AIforce to ‘SIforce’ After Trump Order

Salesforce has renamed AIforce, its new agentic integration layer, to SIforce, according to the company’s CEO, Marc Benioff. The rename leans into the growing popularity of what is being called ‘super intelligence’ – the next generation of artificial intelligence.

AIforce, formally announced at last month’s Dreamforce conference, was previously named Headless 360, which was unveiled at this year’s TrailblazerDX. This marks the third name change for this feature in just over six months.

‘The Era of Super Intelligence Is Here’

Marc Benioff took to X today to share this update, offering only: “The era of Super Intelligence is here. AIForce is officially SIForce.”

At the time of writing, there does not appear to be any official announcement from Salesforce, and it is unclear as to whether this will mean the agentic layer itself undergoes any additional changes beyond the rename.

SF Ben has reached out to Salesforce for comment.

The Intensifying Renaming Problem

Salesforce has become synonymous with regularly renaming its products and offerings, to the point where it was addressed at this year’s True to the Core session at Dreamforce, with Patrick Stokes, the President of Applications and Marketing at Salesforce, admitting that it “drives us nuts too.”

Salesforce’s own community also built renameforce.com to help others keep up to date with the growing number of renames and rebrands.

SIforce marks the third name of what was originally called Headless 360, announced only in April this year. At Dreamforce, it became AIforce. Now, it appears to be SIforce, although it is unclear how long this name will stick.

Tim Combridge, a Technical Writer here at SF Ben, jokingly wrote just last week that this name change could happen.

“So… does this mean Salesforce’s next big name change will be from AIforce to SIforce?” he asked on LinkedIn. Turns out the answer is yes.

What Is Super Intelligence?

This particular name change gives a nod to the rising topic of super intelligence, the next, more advanced stage of artificial intelligence. It is AI that exceeds human cognition in nearly all fields, something the industry generally agrees no system has achieved.

Over the past month, some AI vendors have started publicly saying it’s improving faster than they can safely control, and that has pushed super intelligence (also referred to as superintelligence) from abstract speculation into mainstream business and political news.

Last week, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order, “Inaugurating The Era of Super Intelligence,” establishing a policy across the executive branch to replace artificial intelligence and AI with “Super Intelligence” and “SI.” The administration argued that “artificial” implies something fake.

The administration also secured a voluntary industry safety accord and created an intelligence-led Super Intelligence Force, and explained that federal contractors, grant applicants, and companies filing regulatory comments should expect agency forms and correspondence to adopt the new wording.

This move by Marc Benioff and Salesforce to lean into this wording arguably ties into the image of a company that is increasingly embedded in government, defense, and national security contracts, and is a new politically influenced era.

Final Thoughts

Although the number of renames from Salesforce is now to be expected, it does still prompt more questions than it answers for the future of the CRM giant.

Is this just another marketing move, or is it something more? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Salesforce constantly rebranding everything is driving product trust into the ground. At this point it's embarrassing to even say you work with their products.

Another ridiculous, unnecessary name change. As an admin, it's infuriating and to do this on the heels of Dreamforce simply at the whim of a madman president is even more unnecessary and feels like weak decision making on the part of Salesforce.

Can't believe the person who threatened to remove SF offices from states forcing people to use bathrooms based on their birth sex, and conducted an internal salary survey to make sure women get paid the same as men working at Salesforce is now sucking up to this administration... so sad.

    Agreed. Definitely a foolish move.

Marc Benioff has a responsibility towards his employees. If this administration starts a fight with Salesforce / Benioff, it could very well mean Salesforce to be banned from a lot of things they really need for the wellbeing of the company. The image Benioff put on twitter was an AI generated one, marketing didn't even get a chance to do it properly. My bet is, this message is to show they are compliant and the name AIForce will silently dissapear from all marketing outings of Salesforce in the near future. It's back to headless 360 or agentforce for now. TrailblazerDX next year will be the next opportunity to come with a great new name for this.

Sadly a large section of the US tech sector is toadying up to the US administration's political agenda. That may play to a % proportion of the US electorate, but that doesn't translate well overseas. In the global economy, people are watching

The naming whiplash is ridiculous. This is just another stunt by a CEO who is out of touch with not just the market but also common sense. It used to be that you were proud to say you used SF's products. Now it's embarassing.

Yes, Thanks Sasha for your article. Not sure I've seen as much sadness about this rebrand as any other in SF history, even getting rid of Pardot (still Pardot to me). This is a political play to the Orange one, surprised Marc didn't go all the way and re-brand the colour Pallet to a variety of Orange hues, that at least would have been ironic. Thanks for your work and good to meet you at Dreamforce.

I truly cannot believe what Salesforce has become - bowing to every crazy whim of this president and administration. Mark, you used to stand for something.

Breaking News: Salesforce has just been rebranded Trumpforce!! C'mon Benioff. Be better. Don't play politics with your products. It won't work out well in the end.

The whole fact that the executive order renamed it from AI to SI because "Artificial implies something fake" and that Salesforce went along with it is breaking my brain. Like are we gonna start calling artificial plants "super plants"? AI IS artificial. By definition. This is completely idiotic.
