Drones have played an important role in helping us survey damage quickly and know what lies ahead for our crews. Drones can turn an hour (or hour"s") of hiking into an assessment that takes just a few minutes, especially in rugged terrain.

- Outages are now under 20,000, down from the height of 63,000 🎉.

This broken pole near Hound Ears in Watauga County is an example of the type of damage we’ve seen across our service territory today. High winds have taken a toll on trees outside of right-of-way areas and our poles. Crews will be continuing work throughout the night!
