Wow...
I like, totally took my Mom and sinisterf to the Loreena McKennitt concert in Scottsdale, AZ. It was teh grooviest thing I've seen since I saw the DCD concert in Chicago with my sister, Liz. On that note, I'm going with my sister at the end of May to Los Angeles to see Lisa Gerrard. She's touring for her solo work. Yay! In other horrifying news, two days after moving back to AZ, my car broked. The control arm cracked and the fuel pump nozzle was broken. The total bill to fix it all and make it drivable and not turn into a car-b-cue was just short of $2,000. I couldn't afford a nice shiny new car because I was upside down in my loan and, well, the Jetta is just an abomination. So, I ended up with a a nice shiny '02 Subaru Imprezza WRX. I like it A LOT better than I ever liked the Jetta. It has only 4 cylinders but it has a turbo and is all wheel drive, which makes my horse power up around 225, a clean 35 more than the Jetta had even with it's 6 cylinders. The payments are going to be about $60 more a month that what I was paying, but when you consider that on average, last year I paid $213 PER MONTH for maintenance on the Jetta, I'm actually getting a cheaper deal. Plus, this one will have a phat warranty with all kinds of extra's like road side assistance, free towing...all that stuff. I was not planning on getting a car. I was thinking it was a hose or something had come undone from the pressure changes between here and Chicago. I had that problem when I first got there so....but alas, no. The car was sick of me and was very unhappy that I drove it so much in one go that it just threw a temper tantrum. Yay for a new/different car! Boo for 5 more years of payments! I almost had the Jetta paid off. Just like, 11 more months. Before anyone says anything about that, I'd STILL be paying all the monthly maintenance to keep the effing thing running so, oh well. I'm happy. | | Friday, April 27th, 2007 | | 11:04 pm |
On My Way Home...
Well, for those that don't know...I'm moving back to Arizona this weekend. I'm actually writing this from a motel in Springfield Missouri, called Krystal Inn. I'm so happy to be going home. :) My kitties are *not* loving the ride, but they're OK. | | Saturday, April 14th, 2007 | | 6:03 pm |
Thank you sinisterf!!! The vgift is wonderful! :) <3 | | Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 | | 7:15 am |
Bitch's Log: April 11th, 2007...
WTF is this about? It's effing April 11th and I was late getting to work because IT'S SNOWING!!!!! Not a nice, light snow either. No, it's a full on wet wintry mix of pure white hell. Thank the gods I'm moving back to AZ at the end of this month. | | Thursday, February 8th, 2007 | | 9:33 am |
WTF do you think you're doing?!?!?
So, I'm walking in downtown Chicago yesterday. This is a normal occurrence for me because I work in downtown Chicago. Normally, there are homeless people standing around trying to sell newspapers, magazines, books, small children - anything unguarded they can find laying about randomly (note: I'm joking about the small children). However, as the disgustingly cold winter is making it harder and harder to sit around and panhandle, the homeless are becoming more and more aggressive. They're taking to following you for a few steps and increasing their voice and if you continue to ignore them, they curse at you loudly and call you horrible names, such as this gem tossed out at me, "You nigga dick puzsy fucka! Hai canchew hep ah homess!?". That honestly just made me laugh as I kept on walking. I do sometimes give the homeless some spare change. But, only to the ones that are in obvious need of it and almost never to homeless men; in Chicago there's too many places to go and get work. I ride the train with a lady who helps find jobs for the homeless and one of her gripes is the lack of people to fill the jobs. Another gripe of course being that she gets these people jobs and they quit showing up when they're expected to work. Well, I usually only give money to the homeless women. I absolutely refuse to give any money to the 'disable vets' because: 1 - if you're truly disabled, you get money from the government. 2 - if you're truly a veteran, there's dozens of programs to get you on your feet. So, in my opinion, if you're a 'disabled vet' and out pan-handling, then it's by choice - taking the easy route instead of working for it like the rest of us. Wouldn't it would be nice if we could all just sit around and get money? I work my ass off for my money and I'll be damned before I give it to someone who isn't willing to work for their own money. So, this brings us around to yesterday. I was walking along and there was the usual assortment of homeless people. The Disabled Veteran guy who periodically stands up to push his wheelchair to a better spot, the Troll-Woman who smoked so much her voice is little more than a guttural growl who tosses out curses (I think), the Polite Guy who is just really polite and doesn't beg, just sits and talk and I give change to now and again...and a new one, who shall be called, Creepy Shoe-Shine Ambush guy. You can tell where this is going right...? So, CSSA guy jumps in front of me and squirts this horrible sticky looking whitish-pearl concoction from a water bottle on my shoes - as I'm walking. I stop (my first mistake) and stare in horror at what looks to be a water bottle full of...hrm, how to put it, ah, Genetic Material and I look at the guy with shock and disgust. He gets down on his knees and starts wiping my shoes off saying things about how he's like my brother only black and he don't mean no harm, he just wants to get the salt off my shoes (fer you AZ folks, they salt the roads and sidewalks because of the snow so everything is salt stained). That was my biggest mistake - I just stood there in dumbfounded horror and let him wipe my shoes off, because really, it was nasty looking and I didn't want to touch it myself. I really should have just walked off, or kicked him in the head or something. He's about finished with the first shoe and he starts in about how he's homeless (duh) and cold (duh - Chicago) and then he throws in, "I be shining shoes for money, only eight dolla's per shoe, tip is up to you". I interrupt his soliloquy and say, "You spayed that nasty shit on my and you expect me to pay you? What the fuck do you think you're doing?" and he repeats that he's homeless and cold and blah blah blah and I'm just like, dude, don't touch me. I start to pull away to leave and he grabs my other foot and starts rubbing the nasty looking white stuff all over it and keeps saying how he's cold and such and finally, in desperation to get away and not have him follow me I give him the only money in my wallet which is a $20 and I start to walk away. You'd think I would stop there, but when he completely lost interest in me having given him money, and squirts some ladies shoes and she just screams and runs. Not to lose out, CSSA guy runs after her saying "come back and let me clean it off! I don't mean you no harm, I'm like your brother only black!" So, now I've got salt stained, Unknown Substance stained suede shoes. They're my favorite pair and it pisses me off that I didn't just avoid him or run when I had the chance. I'll try to wash them tonight, but...sigh. I hate this place. | | Monday, February 5th, 2007 | | 7:05 am |
(sigh)
Apparently when it's negative 30 with the wind chill factor (-12 without) my car doesn't like to start. Damn thing. I had to get a ride to the train station from my boyfriend this morning, which sucks for him. I have to leave the house at 5:30 and he doesn't have to leave until 8:00 so he normally gets to sleep a bit longer. Not today though, because the bitch-queen car's battery decides that it's too effing cold to get up the proper cranking amps to turn the engine over. I hate this place. I should have just stayed home and dealt with the car, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because I left work early on Friday. Oh well. woo - hoo!
For those who didn't know, I've been taking classes for the past 5 months. Twice a week, 3 hours a night. It has been exhausting and at times really inconvenient. BUT! I finally finished and I got my transcripts and final grade! I was so worried that I would barely pass because programming is not my thing. Imagine my surprise when I get the following: Class = .Net Developer Letter Grade = A+ GPA = 4.67 120 credit hours Apparently I rock. :) (that noise you hear is me honking my own horn) | | Friday, November 17th, 2006 | | 1:34 pm |

Waaahh!!!!
So, this is really depressing. I thought that I had lost a good amount of weight and wasn't such a fatass anymore. Apparently I was wrong. I got a pedometer because I like to walk during my lunch break and I was curious as to the number of steps I take. Well, apparently I'm still so fat that when I take a single step, there's enough bounce and jiggle in my fat body that the pedometer thinks I'm taking a *further* 8 steps. So, the vibrations in my body are the equivalent of 9 steps instead of one. How depressing is that? Very. Also, as I was walking along on my way from the train station to my work, I was crossing the road and some ginormous fat fu*&er body checked me. I mean, I saw him coming at me, I just thought he was walking along. I could not move out of his way without bowling over the guy next to me and I was in a group of people so I couldn't just stop. This dude was on the outside of the group of people with no one else around or to the side of him and could easily have moved. Well, fu*&tard slams into me and I just kept walking because what the hell else could I do? He kept walking too, or so I thought. I got the other side of the road and was about to cross when I hear him shout, "What, you think you own the whole fucking sidewalk?" I gave him a condescending look and said, "You ran into me you fat fuck". He apparently didn't like that and looked like he was going to try to kick my ass. Well, for those that don't know me - I don't do mornings. This was at 6:45 in the morning. I just pulled my keys out of my pocket and held them between my fingers in a meaningful way, i.e. in a 'try something and I'll hurt you badly' sort of way. He said something derogatory about my parentage but by that time I had crossed the road and was on my way. This wouldn't have been so bad, except that night, while I was at school, the normally ineffectual school IT guys came barging into the room proclaiming that I was visiting an illegal and offensive site. Since when did Mail.Yahoo.com become illegal and/or offensive? Keep in mind folks, last night was my last night in class, I had already finished my final project and was sticking around doing email *because the teacher told us to mail our completed work to ourselves*. Web mail is the only mail we had access to and everyone knows that. I think it's because this is a new guy and he wanted to make a name for himself. Mostly, I was just embarrassed because he came in and made a big production of saying "Sir you need to close your web browser, that's an illegal and offensive web site". I replied, "It's Yahoo mail - how is that offensive" and he said, "Whatever you want to say it is, it triggered and offense in the firewall, please close your browser". I said, "When I'm done emailing my self as the teacher told me too, I'll close it. You can watch if you want. Besides, I paid $3,000 for this class, I just finished it and I'll be damned if you're going to tell me not to do something *now* as opposed to the other 9 million times I've done it." I finished up emailing myself and then left. Oh and while I'm working my way backwards in the "my week has sucked" rant I seem to be going on about... Yesterday a customer who owes us $70,000 is denying payment because they supposedly never heard from me. Never mind that fact that they were told the answer by their main contact, they wanted it from me. I was copied on the email sent to them so I just forwarded it back to them and told them to follow the other guy's suggestion and let me know if it works. Oh and before that, I had a migraine from Monday all the way through 'til Tuesday night. I haven't had a migraine last like that in nearly a year. Sigh. I feel better for getting it all out though. ++++++ ETA I now have a zit forming on my face, about an inch from my nostril on the right side. It looks like I have a tumorous growth and because the surrounding skin is slightly swollen (this is a deeeeep, huuuuge zit) all the pores on that side of my face look like they were drawn on with a big sharpie. Oh, it matches the zit forming under my left eye. Who the hell gets zits in such odd places!?! I wash my face every day, I even use the oil absorbing pads through out the day; where the fuck did these cystic zits come from!? ++++++ ETA2 How could I have forgotten the Wisdom Tooth? I have a wisdom tooth making it's final entrance run on the right side of my mouth. It's broken and split the gum and I can see the tooth. There's plenty of room for it, it's just painful as it starts to finish coming in. So, I've got the wisdom tooth causing my throat, mouth and ear to hurt on the inside of my face and a giant tumorous looking zit making the skin hurt on the outside. Oh my god...I'm a Dull Man.
From: http://www.dullmen.comWhile sitting in a chair, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with the foot. While doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it. But, if this is too exciting for you, instead of a number “6,” draw a number "9" in the air. Your foot will not change direction. *********** I'm absolutely fascinated by this. I've got the pat your head, circle your stomach thing down just fine but this...damn. The seemed interesting. It just sucks to realize that you are in fact, a dull man. But, now that I know that this is my problem/affliction, maybe I can get treatment? :) | | Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 | | 8:37 am |
School is going to finally be done on November 15th. As of right now though, we're done with all the book learning. Now, the teacher is just answering our questions and giving us more in depth info on certain subjects as determined by the class. I have a final quiz on Wednesday and then next week I'll have my final project and then I'm done. :-) It's been six months since I started and by god, I'm so ready for it to be done. Having the extra time during the week will help because now I can start going to the gym again. I haven't gained any weight back from when I lost it all, but I've gotten used to this weight and I'm ready to push to get the last 20 pounds off of me. Plus, not having to be at school all night, get home at 10pm, to sleep by midnight and up again at 4am will be the shiznit. Finally, I'll get enough sleep! haha, Yeah right - since when have I ever gotten enough sleep? I'm sure I'll find something to keep me up. Oh, then this morning, the stoopit crazy bitch at the train station interrupted a conversation I was having with someone and it really pissed me off. I managed to not call her names or rise to her stoopitness but it took will power. There was a political campaign worker at the station handing out pamphlets for the republican dood that I wouldn't vote for, ever. This lady got this crazy look on her face, like you'd think God himself was offering her a pamphlet on the buffet tables in heaven and took one. I politely said no and so did the guy next to me. He mentioned that he gets enough phone calls from them that the last thing he wants is to read about them on the train in the morning and I agreed with him. Well, this lady starts in that we had better be thankful for the freedom to get those calls and if we don't like it then we should move to another country. I shit you not, that is a direct quote. I mumbled something in a condescending tone about enjoying my freedom but disliking the harrassment. I said I draw the line at getting 8 phone calls in one day (which happened on Saturday) from the campaign people. She then said, "Well, move to one of those other countries and you can draw the line in the sand all day long" to which I just laughed and looked at the guy next to me who also laughed. I dropped it at that because I was starting to feel pretty heated and at 5:40 in the morning, that would be a bad thing and it would have ended with me pushing her in front of the train as it pulled up. So, I let it go. It still irks me that someone would tell me that I should move to another country just because I don't like being harassed into voting for a particular candidate. Oh yeah, this woman is at least in her late 30's but that's be generous. She's probably closer to 45. Just goes to show - age does not equal wisdom anymore. Just a quickie Just a quick note...So, for those that have read my journal in the past...The Belching Bastard that sits next to me got FIRED!!!!!! Yay!!!!
Not really fired, his position was eliminated. I feel bad for him in the sense that it sucks that someone lost their job and it will create hardship for his family. I'm happy because I no longer have to live with his disgusting presence next to me.
My boss cleaned out his desk today. It took 3 hours and a huge gray dumpster to get it all. My boss kept making disgusted noises about the weird stuff he would find, like old food, food containers and so forth.

Oh my SSSSQQQQUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! I lurves me some sinisterf!!! Yes I does! :) She found a video of the Dead Can Dance Towards The Within concert on YouTube and posted it on my MySpace page! :-D Yay!!! It may be one of the best things that could happen to me. You see, I have the concert on DVD but almost no one I know of has heard of DCD and since it's on YouTube, that means that people out there will have a chance to experience the magic, the ethereal beauty of Lisa Gerrard's voice. Guh.... Thank you B, you made my day happy and complete! That may not have been your original intention, but oh my god...I can't describe how happy it makes me to know that LG and DCD are becoming more mainstream. *happy dance* Current Mood: ecstatic | | 1:06 pm |
Construction...
The company I work for is remodeling the office. The construction people are going to be hear all throughout the day for the next few weeks. They've been doing stuff in the evening up until now. Apparently, it was ok to pull up some of the old carpet and knock a few walls down at night, but for some ungodly reason, they've decided that they can only paint during the day. I am so high on paint fumes and my head hurts so bad I think I may die. I can't leave because a new guy started today and I get to show him the ropes. If I could concentrate long enough on it, I think I'd cry. :'-( Current Mood: high | | Tuesday, September 26th, 2006 | | 10:41 pm |
Sanctuary
The documentary on Lisa Gerrard is one of the best things I've ever seen. Y'all should check it out, if for nothing else, the pretty music. Well worth the $55 (26 british pounds). Words cannot really describe at its touching beauty and ethereal resonance. :-) Current Mood: indescribable |
