
ARICA 2 [Aoyama Gakuin University]
ARICA-2 (AGU Remote Innovative CubeSat Alert system) is a 2U CubeSat developed by Aoyama Gakuin University (AGU), Japan, as a rapid report demonstration satellite to test an in-orbit astronomical alert system using civilian satellite communications.
The mission aims to demonstrate a new rapid astronomical object warning system capable of transmitting alerts through a commercial satellite communication network. The primary objective is to measure the success rate of message transmission and to quantify the latency between detection and alert dissemination while operating in orbit. The system is intended to support time-critical observations of transient astronomical phenomena.
The satellite is developed by Aoyama Gakuin University, focusing on integrating a compact payload capable of generating and transmitting alert messages via a private communication infrastructure rather than traditional ground station relay chains.
