RAISE 3 [JAXA]
RAISE 3 (Rapid Innovative payload demonstration Satellite 3), is a small demonstration satellite to test new technologies in space.
The third small demonstration satellite (the first was called RAPIS 1) is a satellite for demonstrating on orbit seven new technologies and equipment selected by open recruitment. The experiments will be operate the satellite in response to the request from the proposer, and provide the experimental data of the demonstration equipment and the environmental data at the time of the experiment.
Following experiments are on board:
- LEOMI by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) is an on-Orbit Demonstration of 920 MHz band satellite IoT platform using satellite Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) telecommunication technology
- SDRX by NEC Space Technologies, Ltd. is a software receiver using flexible development method for an on-orbit demonstration of a high-speed flexible software receiver using a signal processing board with COTS parts
- GEMINI by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO)is an on-orbit evaluation of a commercial GPU and its mdel-based development enabling ultra-high speed computation.
- KIR by PaleBlue Inc. is an on-Orbit demonstration of a micropropulsion System using using water as propellant.
- TMU-PPT by Advanced Technology Institute, LLC. is an on-orbit demonstration and performance evaluation of Pulse-Plasma Thruster for Micro-satellite enabling low-power and low-cost small propulsion system using solid propellant.
- D-SAIL by Axelspace Corporation is an on-orbit eemonstration of a deployable membrane deorbit mechanism for micro-satellites, aiming to increase atmospheric drag and orbital decay rate.
- HELIOS by Sakase Adtech Co., Ltd. is an on-orbit demonstration of an lightweight deployable membranes tructure with power generation and antenna function.
It was launched in October 2022 on an shared Epsilon (2) CLPS rocket but failed to reach orbit.
