The pyrite locality, as described by Edward D. Simpson is located approximately 1 mile north-west of the homestead on Millstream Station (NW Pilbara Region).

According to Simpson, the concretions are found in thinly laminated shale and comprise marcasite with the surface covered with pyrite exhibiting octahedron faces.

Ruby corundum has also been found on the Station. (reference needed)

Dec 2012- the station is now part of the Millstream-Chichester National Park, although the homestead remains as an information centre for park visitors. The former homestead is sited next to the Millstream Oasis.

May 2018- over the years the shale may crack to the point lumps may fall off, and the marcasite-pyrite balls degenerate.
