A group of 11 patented claims between Armells Creek and Ford Creek about 3 miles NW of old Fort Maginnis.
Mineralization is a Ag-Pb-Zn deposit along the contact between limestone and syenite porphyry.
Property is developed by adits and shafts.
Average grade of 13.7g/t, but high grade to 13,714 g/t.
Unknown of composition - (Ag,Cu)9(As,Sb)(Te,S)6
The Gies Au-Ag-Te deposit is an epithermal vein system that occurs along the contact between intrusive rocks of the CretaceousTertiary Elk Creek laccolith (syenite, monzonite porphyry, and monzonite) with the Cretaceous Kootenai Formation (sandstone). Tinguaite porphyry dykes (up to 10 m wide and 1.5 km in length) cross-cut these rocks and pre-date and postdate mineralisation. Tellurides are mainly found in two NNW-trending veins that are up to 2 m wide and extend for ~ 500m. A second set of veins trends ENE and where it intersects the first set, the highest gold grades are observed, locally as stockworks.
