A former Au-Zn-Ag-Pb-Cu occurrence/mine located at the western fringe of the Central City district.
A very small operation, one of several, probably no more than glorified prospects. The piles of oxidizing sulphidic rock left on the hill side produced an extremely strong geochemical anomaly. During a field trip for a class in geochemistry, at CSM circa 1968, the water in the stream draining the area of this mine toward the west was found to have a pH as low as 2.2 and a Cu-Pb-Zn content in excess of 50,000 ppm (5%). The metal concentration of the stream water exceeded the limit of the test equipment. The dithizone was still bright red when the graduated cylinder was completely filled by reagent.
