Note on the mineral list:

Cassiterite pebbles were found on the beach at Trevaunance Cove.

The beach at Trevaunance Cove contains considerable quantities of cassiterite-bearing pebbles, however, these can be challenging to spot and are often distinguished by their higher specific gravity.

Wood tin pebbles can also be found at this locality but are less commonly encountered.

Another form of cassiterite that can be found on the beach is 'Dough Tin'. This is a white colour variant of cassiterite that derives its name from the colour and texture resembling that of uncooked bread dough.

Other minerals can also be found in the pebbles at this locality, these include pyrite, chalcopyrite, and sphalerite. Small amounts of galena have also been found in a recently collected specimen.

The source of these mineralised pebbles is likely to be from two main sources, these being mine waste from cliff top dumps making its way down onto the beach and direct erosion from lodes that crossed the cove.
