Wheal Kine is one of the mines making up the Polberro Mines, also known as St Agnes Consols or Polberro Consols.

The 1870 map of the St Agnes Mining district by Symons indicates that Wheal Kine lies to the north-western side of the Trevaunance Mine sett and west of Seal Hole sett.

This area of common access land is for the most part extremely overgrown and would probably be impenetrable in summer. To reach this point walk up the unmade road from the houses just west of the Trevaunance Mine chimney and after 50m turn onto the first narrow footpath which runs more or less parallel to the road. From here the small dump around the shaft collar can be seen and accessed (with determination!). From the shaft collar it is then possible to reach with relative ease the tips at Seal Hole Mine and the truly huge open excavation that runs beside the road. Feb 2023
