Köppen climate type:
Located 14 km east of the Great Northern Highway, 115 km north north east of Halls Creek. Discovered in 1972 by Anglo American, and explored in 1973.
The prospect consists of granulite pods occurring in amphibolite and acid gneiss. Granitic intrusions and pegmatites are common. Mineralisation occurs in massive fracture fillings, and disseminations in mafic granulite. 0.1-0.5% Cu, 0.3-2.6% Ni and 0.02-0.10% Co.
The mineralised zones are 1.4 to 4 metres thick, with higher grades in narrower zones. Gossans at the surface are narrow, linear, poddy, from weakly massive limonite, to mere Fe stained rocks. There is some goethitic and malachite staining, with Ni to a respectable 1%. The largest gossan is 220 metres long by 5 metres wide.
