A former Cu occurrence/mine.

The Dana Mine was first opened in 1851 on the Dana fissure, located east of the Central Mine. Three shafts were sunk along the fissure as it was well charged with copper, but was later discovered that the copper amounts greatly declined with depth. At the end of 1852, the company was reorganized as the Summit. What rock piles left by the mine have been reclaimed by nature. Minerals that can be found here include datolite, copper, and prehnite.

Mineralization is a Cu deposit (Deposit Type: Fissure copper veins; Deposit model: Native Cu), hosted in basalt of the Portage Lake Volcanics.
