An underground copper mine located near Lake Gogebic and the Derby Mine. The Waukulla Mine was organized in 1864 and two adits and a shaft were completed shortly after. Because of its remoteness, roads leading to the mine were nearly impassible thus making it difficult to transport goods to the mine. Several ancient copper pits were discovered in the area of the mine. The last company report was in 1882 and nothing is known of mining operations past this point.
