Searching for copper ore on Lewis Creek, the Index Bornite prospect has no record of production. The workings consisted of 700' of adits and a 70' shaft. It worked a shear zone containing sulfide ore up to 4" in width.
Structure: Intense Fracturing
Alteration: Potassic (Biotite). Volcanic Rocks Intensely Pyritized And Hornfelsed. Intrusion Is Pyritized.
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc
Deposit: Along contact of snoqualmie batholith and tertiary volcanic rocks. May be high-level representation of possible porphyry system. Mineralized area covers 1.5 square mi. Sulfide minerals occur As impregnations and bands to 4 in. Wide in mineralized shear zone
Deposit type: Polymetallic veins
