A former W-Au-Ag mine located in sec. 31, T1S, R16E, about 2¾ miles E of N from the El Capitan Pass, on National Forest land. NOTE: Alternate coordinates provided: 33.2986N, 110.7361W.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a linear ore body hosted in the Precambrian Pinal Schist. The ore zone is 0.3 meters wide, strikes S60E and dips 40NE. An associated rock unit is the Madera Diorite. Scheelite occurs in a fault zone 4 to 12 inches wide.
The workings consist of a 45 foot (13.72 meters) inclined shaft, an inaccesible vertical shaft of unknown depth, four diamond drill holes, each reported to be 100 feet deep, and a few shallow pits and open cuts. No production record. It is doubtful if ore will exceed 1% WO3.
