A tin mine, which worked on the western extensions of the Great Hewas lodes. It was worked at a small scale for many years and was eventually amalgamated with Great Dowgas Mine. The grid reference marks the ruin of the engine house, which stands in the middle of a field near Ventonwyn farm.
Between 1889 and 1909, the mine produced 167 tons of black tin. Most of this ore was raised after 1903, when it was part of Great Dowgas Mine.
