A sample with a mineral occuring as spherules composed of white needles on a dense phospate matrix originating from Mushishimano, Democratic Republic of the Congo was analyzed, described and named as a new mineral with the name bialite by Buttgenbach in 1927-28. The sample was provided by Emile Richet.
The mineral was later found to be identical with wavellite and descredited.
Mushishimano is the name of a tributary of the river Lufira, part of the Congo River watershed.
