Forshammars pegmatite quarries- is in fact two separate quarries approximately 1km apart. The older Klinttjärnbo and Limbergsbo. The name Forshammar comes from a small metal industry nearby and the quarries has basically only been known under the last name (transl. from Lundegårdh). Geologically it is located in the western central part of the Paleoproterozoic ( ca. 2.0-1.8 Ga) Bergslagen ore province. The granite pegmatites are hosted in felsic volcanic units.
Dravite from a pegmatite roadcut occurrence has the highest, although still trace, amount of REE as for pegmatitic tourmaline, with ≤ 1200 ppm REE, incl. ≤ 210 ppm La and ≤ 670 ppm Ce.
