Horseman's Prospect; Horseman Property
A copper prospect near the head of Deer Creek on Craig Mountain. The ore was found along a fault in green andesite schist. It was developed by cuts, shallow shafts, and adits, the longest of which was 600' long. A small cabin and compressor were on the ridge above the mine.
Note: The USGS map for the area lists this mine as the Deer Creek Mine which is not correct, the actual Deer Creek Mine is around 1000' lower in the valley and mined separate veins.
