Medium-sized granitoid-related vein-type gold deposit, located in the external contact zone of the Damiao granite intrusion (later Hercynian orogeny) and Archean gneiss of the Xiaotazhigou Formation (Jianping Group). The latter are the host rocks for the gold lodes, that are controlled by E-W trending shear zones. Gold mainly occurs in the fissures of pyrite and quartz and shows close relation to galena and sphalerite. Alteration closely related to gold mineralization includes silicification, pyritization, sericitization, chloritization and kaolinization. The deposit is probably of magmatic hydrothermal origin.
