Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Green Mountain Skarn; Bessemer Iron Mine
A skarn zone north of Green Mountain is characterized by cavity fillings of specular hematite, small quartz crystals, and andradite garnet, including spectacular elongated pseudomorphs of hematite/quartz after an unknown mineral suspected to be epidote or scapolite. They are typically coated with small quartz crystals with occasional scepters. Hematite/quartz pseudomorphs after garnets are more scarce. The axinite and Japan law twinned quartz crystals were found in a separate zone from a rock face near the Pseudomorph zone.
