Closed silver mine, found in 1558, closed in 1897 because of deterioration of profitability.
Max 4ton of silver was yielded in 1893, ranked as 6th silver mine in Japan in that time.
Heritage of modernization in Fukushima Prefecture.

Hydrothermal network.

Bonten deposit which is main ore bodies in the mine has been mined at the Tsudo (0m), Chugiri (+12m), +30m, +40 m, +60m and +90m levels. It is composed mainly. of the stock work and vein developed in the fracture zone, 350m in length, 120m in width and 250m in depth, at the southwestern portion of the Ginzan rhyolite altered hydrothermally. The ore body, 100m long, 40m wide and 60m deep in scale, showing network develops in the northwestern part of mineralization zone.
Ginsei deposit: It is situated at about 400 m east of the Bonten deposit and also occurs in the Ginzan rhyolite. It mainly consists of a ore body of network containing 200 g/t Ag, and has a scale of 50 m in length, 50 m in width and 50 m in depth.
