Presso località Albero Bassi, Santorso, Provincia di Vicenza (Vicentino), Veneto, Italia

Middle Triassic porphyritic basalts, varying in colour from light green to dark grey.

To reach this locality, take the road that from Timonchio and Másena (Santorso municipality) leads to San Rocco hamlet, on the Tretto plateau (Schio municipality), up to Contrada Albero Bassi (a small group of houses located on the right side of Rio Timonchiello, Santorso municipality). Mineralised rocks are found below Albero Bassi, at the outcrop in a little valley deeply carved by a left tributary of Rio Timonchiello (this streamlet forms the border between the municipalities of Santorso and Schio) and also as erratics along the Rio Timonchiello bed.

This occurrence is the type locality for heulandite-K (Coombs et al., 1997), previously described as "heulandite" by Passaglia (1969), and the first-reported locality for Italy of ferrierite-Mg ("ferrierite" in the original paper of Alietti et al., 1967).

Note: minerals from erratics collected along the Rio Timonchiello bed, downstream of the mentioned outcrop of porphyritic rocks, are sometimes indicated by collectors as from "Albero Bassi, Rio Timonchiello, Santorso"; other collectors prefer to indicate them as from "Rio Timonchiello, Santorso and Schio", because the stream bed contains mineralised blocks originated from various outcrops located in both municipal territories.
