This mine was located near the head of Park Creek above Bonita Creek. The ore occurred in quartz veins along faults in the Early Cretaceous quartzite and quartzite of the Harts Pass Formation and a porphyry. It was developed by several short adits and shafts on 15 claims in the basin. The claims were called the Nephew, Captain Jack, Harnessmaster, Sister Grace, Aunt, IXL, Uncle, Jack Parker, Equinox, Solitare, Maccabbe, Blue Hen, Shanghai, Queen City, and Black Dwarf. A small amount of ore was produced in the 1900s and from 1938-1940.
Structure: Jur-Cret Fold And Thrust Beld Intruded By Cret-Tert Magmatic Arc Plutons Fault Sets
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc
Commodity: There were high grade pockets in early days
Deposit: Quartz veins range from 6-30 in. Thick. Veins are offset by several barron n40 W faults that are parallel to bedding. The argillite and quartzite contain several sills of quartz porphyry and dacite porphyry, which contain quartz veins. The ore contains thin parallel bands of finely divided sulfides. 15 patented claims, sketch map of claims in moen (1969, p. 101). ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Deposit type: Polymetallic veins
Geology: Rocks of basin are argillite and fine-grained arkosic quartzite thatare part of a turbidite sequence
