Municipality of Portalegre district.
Mining concession no. 2795 "Poio" (W), Espirito Santo parish, registered on 25-11-1952.
The Nisa uranium deposit, located in Central Portugal, has been known since the late 1960s. Some areas were explored at that time. Today, a few open pits and dumps remain in place and are a concern to local authorities.

In Geological and Geomining heritage from Nisa: territory assessment and integration in the Naturtejo Geopark, Carlos Neto de Carvalho & Joana Rodrigues, VVR 2012.
