Devils Mountain Mine; Pacific Mine
A gold-nickel mine on Devils Mountain neat Mount Vernon. The geology consisted mainly of quartz and nickeliferous ankerite along a fault zone. It was developed by 300' of adits and 6375' of drilling. A resource of 15,000,000 tons of rock averaging 0.02 oz/ton gold and 0.2% nickel was defined.
A small amount of ore was produced in test shipments.
Geology: Fault zone between serpentine and sandstone is made up of silica-carbonate rock with central core of sulfide bearing breccia. Silica-carbonate rock portion is 2 mt. Long and 100 to 400 ft. Wide. Sulfide breccia is in small lenses along core.
