A large lead-zinc mine north of Metaline Falls. The ore occurred as replacements and disseminations in Metaline Limestone It was developed by a main adit and an incline shaft and contained many miles of underground workings.
Structure: Nne Plunging Anticline Northerly-Trending Faults
Tectonics: Near Sw Edge Of Down-Dropped Block
Commodity: Ore is fine grained sphalerite and galena widely disseminated through silicified brecciated somewhat carbonaceous dolomite.
Deposit: Ore is in upper part of metaline limestone near crest of an anticline plunging gently nne. Lateral limits of ore are in the adjacent pend oreille mine.
Development: Production ceased in 1964 ; econ.com: ore treated in 750-ton per day flotation mill
Rock formation(s): Metaline Limestone-Brecciated, Silicified Dolomite
Ore(s): Near Crest Of Anticline And 35 To 150 Feet Below Ledbetter Slate-Metaline Limestone Contact.
