Mosteiros is a civil parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, with an area of 8.98 km² and a population of 1,021 inhabitants (2021 census).
The parish is located in the western part of São Miguel Island, about 30 km from Ponta Delgada and approximately 10 km from the Ferraria bathing area. It lies at an elevation of 16 to 30 meters above sea level, forming what is essentially a large coastal lava platform (fajã).
The rest of the parish is situated at significantly higher elevations (the Pico and Lombas areas), ranging from 140 to 190 meters above sea level. Mosteiros is connected by road to Ponta Delgada, both via the southern and northern routes, as well as to the city of Ribeira Grande. (Wikipedia)

The beach at Mosteiros is characterized by dark volcanic sand and andesite rock formations, reflecting the island’s volcanic origin.
