Cassiterite-scheelite skarn deposit.

The Tieyaoshan mining area is located near the Tengchong–Qipanshi fault in the central and eastern part of the metallogenic belt. Several rock bodies of the Donghe rock group are exposed in the mining area, in which fine grained biotite granite and medium-fine grained biotite granite are closely related to mineralization. The area is mainly distributed with the Siguangping Formation of the Middle Carboniferous System of the Upper Paleozoic and the Kongshuhe Formation of the Upper Carboniferous System. Sn–W–Fe ore bodies are found in the fault fracture zone. The geological exploration report shows that 16 ore bodies have been identified and mined in the mining area, and the ore bodies are strictly controlled by the NNW fault fracture zone. Most ore bodies occur as veins and lenses. The occurrence of the ore body is basically consistent with that of the fault fracture zone, with a strike of 310–350° and a dip angle of 40–85°, and some are even vertical. The average grades of the ore bodies are Sn 0.12%–1.26%, WO3 0.137%–0.389%, and TFe 33.74%–38.51%.
The types of Sn–W–Fe polymetallic ore in Tieyaoshan are relatively complex, mainly including brecciated quartz–limonite (pyrite) type tungsten–tin ore and quartz–magnetite type tin–tungsten ore, followed by skarn type tin–tungsten ore.
