Inactive/abandoned Ba mine (1960-?) - In the former C-79 mining concession, the main mineral resource extracted at Alto da Caroceira was baryte. Baryte mining was carried out over an area of approximately 50 hectares. The first period of extraction dates back to 1960, while the second began in 1998. Very little evidence of the mining activity remains today, as the site has undergone environmental rehabilitation.
Mining concession registered on 10-08-1961.
