Pelitic-psammitic schists ("Zone Houillère" unit, Briançonnais terrane), with abundant lenses of quartz elongated parallel to the foliation planes, along the north slope of Mont Chaz Duraz. Rock crystals (often with chlorite inclusions) are found in fissures running perpendicular to the bedding of the schistous host rock.
