A mine located on Deer Creek north of Silverton. It worked sulfide lenses in a 10-75 ft fracture zone along a skarn in diorite and limestone. It produced approximately 830 tons of ore by 1918. Ores from this mine were sent to the Tacoma Smelter. Development consisted of two main adits connected by around 3000' of workings and a 1300' aerial tramway.
Note: The reported Sylvanite was not found with SEM examination, and is doubtful to exist at all (PC, Bart Cannon).
Structure: Accreted Terranes Fracture Zone
Alteration: Diorite Is Altered
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc
Deposit: Dimensions given are of largest ore lens. Lenses occur in a 10-75 ft wide fracture zone exposed for about 3000 ft. Deposit is possibly a disrupted massive sulfide
Deposit type: Massive sulfide, kuroko
