Quartz vein-type gold deposit.
Located about 40 km east of Habahe town.

Quartz veins oblique or vertical to the shear zones have a gold reserve of > 13 t Au at 5.35 g/t, which made the Axile gold deposit to be the first intrusion-hosted, medium-size gold deposit in the Chinese Altai. The economic orebodies in the Axile deposit are hosted in the subsidiary faults vertical or oblique to the main shear zone, unlike the majority of orogenic-type gold deposits in Altai that are hosted in the structures parallel to the major and secondary order shear faults, as exemplified by the Doranasai and Tokuzbay gold deposit. Tens of gold lodes were discovered in the Axile gold deposit area, but only few of them contain economically significant gold orebodies. The orebodies numbered 33–1, 34–1, 36–1, 21–1 and 30–1 are economic, with No. 33–1 orebody occupying about 80 % gold resources in the Axile deposit. The gold orebodies hosted in the altered tectonites such as the mylonitic quartz diorite and biotite granite as thick quartz veins and lenticulars. The largest orebody No. 33–1 is 0.34 to 7.53 m thick and 371 m long, with average grades of 5.66 g/t Au. The other orebodies are generally 46 to 371 m long, 1.78 to 3.85 m thick, with an overall average grade of 5.35 g/t Au. The ores are mainly of auriferous quartz veins, followed by altered tectonites with disseminated mineralization. The altered tectonite-type ores are the altered quartz diorite and biotite granite, and consist of relict quartz phenocrysts of the intrusions and hydrothermal minerals.
